Awesome! Thanks for the info. I think the SAE-40 may be what I should run in a 440/Six Pack car... Just wanna make sure I'm using enough ZINC!

I use Valvoline VR 1 in all my old Mopars. In all the never been rebuilt and the older builds, I use the 20W50. If it's a fresh engine I used the 10W40. As that isn't available, I will favor the 10W30. I see no benefit of using the heavy power robbing straight weight oils. Back in the day those heavy single weight oils were used to keep worn engines from excessive oil usage. I may be old school but haven't been shown a significant reason to change my mind. Just another opinion to confuse matters more.

I use the 20/50 since it's hot in South Louisiana most of the time I'm running my 440 6bbl, which is pretty "loose". If it was a fresh or tight build, I'd use the 10/30.
Once my 541 stroker is broken in, I'll use a synthetic oil that is compatible with solid flat tappet lifters, which are what I plan on using.

Where can I buy 5 gallon buckets of VR-1? MY .020 Over 440 has around 30,000 on it's only rebuild.

Its purple..Im doomed ☠
