Very dumb question, 440 timing chain tensioner??

No no I went with a double roller set up, and yah the dizzy bushing came with the machine work, no need for fuel rail cuz I went electric, and went with a billet seal holder cuz the old owner lost the original, just the timing and cam cover through me through a loop

There ya go!

Little off track, but helped a buddy years ago...on a Toyota. Good thing he was a friend, otherwise hell no. Deal is, since he had over 250,000 miles on the thing, he figured it needed a timing chain. So, we dug into it.
That dang thing had (stock) a double roller. Still in great shape, just like it had been put on new! That was enough reason why it's the only thing I use. Surprised the heck outta me.

Asked Google and it says big block timing chain tensioners exist! But clicked on images and shopping and they are all small block tensioners.
LOL!

Google has started using a bunch of AI generated responses. Some of them are pretty half-baked.

Spend the $$$ and buy an aftermarket billet rear main seal retainer. The factory one is junk.
Edit: I see that he already did this. Still, good info for anyone else rebuilding a Big Block.

Holy thread revival!!!

No kidding. I didn't look at the date but when I read through the responses, I saw names of members that I didn't remember.

The OP last posted in 2016 ?
Because he is still out in his shop looking for his big block chain tensioner.

In all fairness, it wasn't a bad question given the man's inexperience with the brand.
The LA series was introduced after the B/RB series and ran far longer. That allowed some refinement during that time. Chain tensioner, roller camshafts, EFI, stuff like that came along after the big block went out of production.
The B/RB has no mounting boss to attach any type of tensioner and the room to install one is very tight. To do it would probably require mounting it in some really creative manner.
