Served at Ft leonardwood, ft huachuca, all over Iraq attached to tons of units like 82nd air borne and some sf units, UHHH back to ft hood. the worst part was my base was closed (in San Diego) due to BRAC and moved to Hawaii. Retired in 2008 with just over 20 years total from the Army, Army Reserve and Army National Guard. Helicopter mechanic 67N (Huey), 67T (Blackhawk), & 67U (Chinook). Stationed at Ft. Knox, Ft. Rucker, & Ft. Eustis. Spent the last 10 years in the Guard at Selfridge ANGB in MI. Still stop in and see my friends from time to time.

Thanks to all those whom I share this family with. I enlisted not only to serve our country but to honor my Dad, a WW2 vet who saw a lot of action in Europe. He passed away just a few months after I retired. I guess he knew that I was safe then.

another old guy. viet nam '66 to 67. Da Nang ,85th maint co. workrd on 175 mm cannon ,40 forty foot barrel. 4 sets of 2 from DaNag to the DMZ. We were winning when I left. at least thats what they told us.

Drafted into Army Nov. 29, 1972, basic @ Ft. Jackson. Draft was ended when I was in basic and I ended up being the last person drafted in my county which includes the University on North Carolina. AIT @ Ft. Bliss and then to Germany assigned to a German missile base in the North Sea and Dutch border area. Separated as a Spec. 4 on 14 Nov. 1974. Started college on the GI bill 10 days later, (quarter system).

Prior to separating I ordered a new 75 Corvette through the PX to be delivered after getting home. The kicker is that Corvette, which I still have, was ordered to replace my 68 383, 4-speed Road Runner. Have no idea where that car is now and don't know how to find it, wish I could. The Road Runner is well, to say the least, so much more valuable than that Vette today, however that Vette was much more fun at the time to a 22 year old college student.
