Hey guys im looking for a little help decifering the fender tag on my newest project car...vin......rm23h9g265090
And the fender tag has....m21....r11....y2....y2....h2x....x9....512....474996...e63....d21....rm23...h9g....265090....anyone help me here I know it is a 69 sport coupe roadrunner, origanally had a hi-per 383, heavy duty 4-speed, am/fm radio, drip thought moldings, and thats about it....and how rare is the sport coupe anyhow....was told theyre pretty rare but numbers would be really helpful....im looking really to find out all the options this baby had....shes a shell now....but not for long

First the VIN Decoded

Body Type: R = Road Runner
Price Class: M = Medium
Body Type: 23 = 2 Door Hardtop
Engine: H = 383 330HP OR 335HP 1-4BBL 8 CYL
Year: 9 = 1969
Sequence Number: 265090 = 165090th Vehical Built

For A proper fender decode I need the lines/ or a pic would save me time instead of trying to fig out where all the #rs go

M21 - drip rail mouldings
R11 - AM radio (2, yes count 'em, 2 ground pounding watts of power)
Y2 - yellow roof
Y2 - yellow body
H2X - black bench seat
X9 - black upper door frames
E63 - 383/335hp
D21 - 4 speed manual with Hurst floor mounted shifter, wood grained shift knob, and reverse warning light

That fender tag decoder is sometimes misleading and sometimes just plane wrong, but it's a good place to start.

Oh... rare? not hardly. over 33,700 RM21s

I need my coffee.....

Over 48,500 RM23s.

Rarer.......maybe...thanks guys like I said shes just a shell now, needs quite a bit of tin replaced......so im tryin to decide on goin original or custom street/strip.....i think shes gonna go custom now...any opositions......maybe a roll cage.....4-bar.....4-speed.......big azz engine...mini tubs.ect

I don't like to change things that can't be changed back fairly easily especially on a RR or GTX, if it was a 69 Belvadere that would be different. Customize the base models restore the factory muscle but that's just my opinion.

Personally leaning to strokin a rb and mini tubbin it.....if I can keep stock interior.....want it to look vintage but run like a skalded dog..... I built dirt oval race cars, so fab is not a problem.....and thinkin I can use it for advertisement also
