Hello,

I'm restoring a 69 Super Bee. The vin tag got painted over with heavy black paint. So much paint that the numbers were obscured. I used paint stripper to remove the paint and expose the embossed numbers. But now its bare aluminum and doesn't look right. I'm going to repaint the tag with black paint, but the pentastar and "Chrysler Corporation" logo are gone. Does anyone make a stencil for the logo?

Thanks

Blake

Since we are on the topic, do the VIN numbers get silver paint?

Hi Guys, I don't want to hyjack the thread, But since we are on fender tags, Did anyone have any experience with trims tags. com, I was wondering if A guy didn't have a fender tag would one work from trim tags.com, I know you wouldn't know the exact options but if a guy walked around your car and picked out all the options it had would it be a good alternative. Thanks

Yes. They made a bad tag for my car for a previous owner.

Yes, tags can be made but without having the original as a template any tag will probably be inaccurate. Some plants had information that was only on the tag and cannot be guessed at. Inaccuraces show up like a sore thumb.

What was coded, when it was coded and where it was coded on the tag changes from year to year and plant to plant and even during the year. Tag makes do not know all these nuances.

Having a badly made tag on the car can raise questions.

It's perplexing to me as to why people would want to pay the cost of a reproduction tag knowing it will be wrong.
