I plan on the same mod in the future but do to having a whole car to build I elected the 727 until then. Let me know what you think of it once you get to drive it, bet it will be a blast.

Tony went back to the drawing board and made a new B-body / viper to T-56 tranny crossmember
this one butts upto and bolts behind the current tranny/ torsion bar crossmember . This allow you to cut out the center of the tunnel and support , then bolt this up behind whats left .

I'm not sure how that's really better. Seems that it would have a bigger tendency to flex and shift because the bolts are now super long. I would still support the original t-bar member upwards along the floor as you did.

i think it would have been ok and even better if they put two more sleeves to slide over the
exsisting cross member just out on the ends where the bolt holes are ? but thats more weight for sure . Once i actually get it i will have to decide which i will use . The modified one is in and fits now so it may stay ?

after several times trying to get the tranny back in by my self got several people over today and she is back up in there


clutch not completely bled yet so i didnt bolt crossmember up or drive shaft yet untill i know the clutch will bleed properly

I finally got off my *** and finished it , few snaggs got me down and i didnt touch it for a little over 2 years . The six speed is in it and I love it works fantastic . I Post some final assemble pictures and what we found out the Problems were .

problems side tracked me and frustated me

but really it was just working on it on my back on the floor that did me in , I talked my buddy into letting me use his lift so after sitting 2 1/2 years we took her to a lift , three years worth of junk piled on it

day two , fixing the Viper six speed in the superbird , the stupid Quick Time Bellhousing was hitting the flywheel and the teeth had imbedded in the bellhousing , It had the whole thing locked up . We did a little grinding to releave it and all is well .

oh believe me after the frustration of having the damn trans in and out of the car about 15 times on the floors . I had to walk away for a couple years before I was motivated again . Then once it was on the lift just took a weekend to shake out the problems . Sorry i lost so much time i could have been driving her . I was so frustrated i didnt even want think of it let alone look at it . Tooks friends and family to get me off my *** and get her done .
