They landed in the yard this morning on the underside of our giant Cardon Cactus. I've noticed the bees around here are pretty small in size.

I have found stinging insects to be allies for whatever reason.

Apparently they like me.

Hope they're not the killer variety.

There was a nest between the fender and driver's door of my 70 Super Bee (I know, right).
They never bothered me but would come out and chase off almost anyone else that approached the car.

There was a hornet's nest out side the back door of the building I worked in, that went directly to my office.
I could stand on the back porch, sometimes only inches from them and they did nothing.
...but if anyone else tried to walk on to that porch, or knock on the door.....they were "in for it".
It was like having a personal air force and it forced any potential visitors to go through the front door.

I have only ever been stung by exactly one bee, one wasp, and one hornet.
All three were my own fault.

Bees have an incredible sense of smell, perhaps you smell nice to them. :)

Have never been stung by a honey bee but can't say that about wasps. I have to always be on the lookout for them as they really mess me up.

My side yard is like a forest, lots of trees. Last year I cut down an unwanted pepper tree and I put an old garbage can over the stump, so it wouldn’t grow back. A bee colony made a nest inside the can, entering through a hole in the side. I never had any problem with bees.I didn’t mess with them and they didn’t mess with me. A while after the discovery, I found, the hard way, a nest of ground nesting Yellowjackets. After my encounter of getting hit about 6 times from the @%&s, I noticed that they were flying from the nest, about 30 feet and attacking the bees. The Yellowjackets killed all of the bees.
I tried some spray that didn’t work at all. I then bought a couple cans and planned on an early morning attack. To my surprise, something had dug up the hole nest and there was just pieces of the honeycomb scattered around. Good ridence.

Did you observe any action like this....?
