Hi. Looking through my parts and found a set of vynl top moldings that I know came off a '67 Charger. I then started thinking that I don't recall ever seeing this option on any '66 Charger. Hence the question.

nope..66 had them..dealer installed

I have the chrome from a 66 vinyl top car....chrome is different, but it was available in 66

67 was the first year for the vinyl top (the White Hat Special... which was actually a Black or a White top).
It was possible to get a vinyl top for a 66, but it was a dealer addition, and not a factory option. Consequently, they do not look the same. No 66 ever rolled off the line with a vinyl top.

Eeek, some nasty scratches there Bryan my boy!

Still my favorite "odd" option on first gen's is the Birthday Package.

the dents & scratches are from original owner...with limited income, certain things get fixed and other items are left alone

Your car looks great just as is.

thanks...and it's gonna stay that way until one of 4 things happen:

1) I die

2) one of my kids get the car

3) I sell it

4) I hit the lottery

1) I wonder why he thinks is so rare...it's only a vinyl top car with AC....

2) with that much rust in the frame rails...I would be afraid of driving it
