I was watching the race where Matt Hagen lost in the 1st round over Tasca and after the race he went in the corner and pouted like a big baby.He didn't watch the other races, just sat alone.Looked like poor sportmanship to me.
I didn't even see him come over to Force to congratulate him.Maybe I missed it.
What's your take on it.

i saw it, he didnt even have a shot at the championship ..... Force has a strong team too..some people just cant handle a loss

he came into the last race of the season in the lead by 2 rounds.
after his 1st round loss, he just went and sat on a trailer tongue all by himself.
what a classless baby imo.
Didn't even watch Force mow down the competition.

Hagen?

Hey,Hagen came so close!! a rookie almost World Champ,in aWorld where You have the likes of John Force,Kalitta,Shoemacher,He does have class,he has shown that through the season, you cannot blame a Guy for being disappointed,he did come back for a interveiw, and I 'm sure he congraulated Force,Hagen is a compeitor,in tuff sport with a lot of ego's,he is a class act as far as I'm concerned!!!

I watched it and just thought Hagen was greatly disappointed in his performance.
Out so soon with the wolf (Force) at the door.
He knew his chance was gone at that moment.
May have unrealistic expectations but ya gotta dream big.
He was on a HIGH with a chance to win it big but got to a real LOW in less than 5 sec.

I agree, Ctown. Personally, I was disappointed with Tasca. I think he tried to burn Hagan down at the line - I thought that even before he said as much in the interview. Then he acted like HE won the championship by beating Hagan. In my eyes, Tasca could have acted classier. BUT, if Hagan was affected by Tasca's staging, he can't blame him - he should have just staged and forced the issue himself (Hagan).

In a Nutshell, When you are a professional, act like a professional.
He sulked like a girl and pouted.
Go up to the line and watch the finale.
Congratulate the winner and go out like a class act not like a classless ***.

He showed me how not to act.
I have lost a few races this year by .001 and .004 and .007 and after each final I went up to the winner and congratulated him and gave them all a hug.

he might have been ahead in points, but those other guys know how to bring it in the end ...... if he did that good this season, he will have his time real soon !

I think he was just terribly disappointed. He was all set to become a Champion on drag racings biggest stage and after the first round loss he knew it was totally out of his control and could only hope for a Force loss before the third round. I don't think he was acting like a baby at all. Just put yourselves in his shoes. I don't think any of you would be all happy and pretending that it didn't matter that much or it didn't bother you. He had respect for Force and he related that later in the broadcast. I think he is a class act.

kid, Hagan is not a kid, your a kid he's a grown up and a professional,

He is a couple of years older then me... that makes me a kid? lol

Its drag racing... people get pissed off, disappointed, you name it. who cares. You would be the same way.

I have seen force, Warren Johnson, KJ, GA... all get mad on tv and throw a fit.. so what?

Hagan is a KID! 28 years old! has only been in the seat for less than 2 years. He will grow and be calmer about losing.

This post should be about the fact that he is in 2nd place! not about a stupid lose... give the kid a break.

Wow!!! What a difference a year makes!!!! Only a true champion could bounce back from that emotional roller coaster and fight through the same situation again only to prevail. I am proud of him and proud of Mopar for sponsoring the Champ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to see him win. I had a nice chat with him at the Joliet race this year - nice guy.

Maybe he should take lessons from Kyle Busch? :ufo:

Yep glad to see him win the championship and pull off the event win too.

"He's the 2011 F/C champion now" & record holder 3.99 et... I think Tony Pedregon is far worse many times... That was last years 2010 Pomona finals, I'm sure he's matured some now, it's just a rookie mistake, I think he was just devastated after loosing & the camera crew followed him over to that trailer, when he was just trying to get some composure, after his dream was shattered, I think it would be extremely hard to have a ESPN TV camera & race commentators microphone, shoved in your face after just blowing your chance for a "Rookie season championship", at least he's not a robot like his team mate & owners son, Tony Schumacher, he shows almost no emotion... {Sorry to all you Sarge loyal fans} I was never in contention to win a NHRA F/C Championship, so I don't know what I would have done, I do think, it had to be tough to loose the championship Last Year because of loosing early in the race eliminations & any chances of winning... But I do think he & John Force have a good relationship or at least that's what they show on the pit reports ESPN TV stuff... You need to remember, they do edit this stuff to stir up **** sometimes, behind the scenes... Just My Honest Opinion
