I've been using teflon tape, seems to work

To much tape can isolate the threads from making a good ground. You can always OHM the sensors ground after putting it in.

Those sensors are essentially a variable ground. Teflon tape often does not cause a problem but as pnora said - too much and you can get problems.

Just go to your local parts store and ask for a Standard . TS17T

That was it! Temp needle is dead center now. I applied teflon tape, but only on the top half of the threads. Thanks for the help guys!
