We found the vibration!

Update! Gave up and went to local trans/rear builder (Southern Gear) with our parts. They figured it out and got it all put together and set up for us...it was worth it. Have some 'incorrect parts' to return, but having the whole third member back in one piece was a great step forward!!!

We'll be working on the axles next and re-installation...getting excited!

The pinion bearing is supposed to be an interference fit onto the pinion. You did have the correct parts. There is usually a shim under the bearing too. Hope it all turns out well...

After the carrier (side) bearing problem, and with 2 opinions that the shaft was wrong, we decided to stop playing around and get some professional help :happy7:. The shim is under the bearing, the set up is all done and the gear pattern is great. Thanks for the good wishes!

Just a quick bit of info from one who is running "Green" bearings in an 8 3/4....Car is a 64 Polara 505 stroker and has 100 drag strip runs on it and 3000 street miles.....the "Green" bearings came as original equipment on the Strange Engineering axles I put in the car's rear end and have given me absolutely NO trouble....I doubt that Strange would use inferior design axle bearings...
