This sucks. Seems like I'm not getting any breaks. 3 weeks ago, my right retina got a tear, and they did a laser-weld repair. Seeems to be healing well. Well Tuesday, my left eye goes into the freak-show vision, and I had to have 3 tears Cryro'd. They couldn't laser the tears, as there was too much blood in there and the laser would have refracted all over the place. The Cryro procedure was very uncomfortable, and the clearing of my vision will take some time. Seems the gel in your eye can turn to liquid with age, and the retina starts tugging and tearing for some people. It seems that I'm one of the "lucky" ones. YEA!!

Sorry to hear that Mike. It’s bad enough getting aging eye sight issues, but i can’t imagine going through what you are. Hope it goes better for you and they can do something about it. Good luck.

Man, that's tough luck. I have been through a lot of issues the past 20 years but, eye trouble would scare the **** out of me!

It is pretty frightening. I only hope that things smooth-out. If things go south, the possible procedures sound pretty shitty, but straight-forward.

Tonight is the first time I've been on the web in days. It's blurry, but I'm just checking in. The docs said reading isn't good right now, as the crap floating around settles, but it's like a slow-motion snow-globe. The more I shift my eyes....the longer it takes for the freaky crap to go away. So.....good-night folks!!!

All the best for a speedy recovery Mike.

I don't see the problem.

Ok sorry had to say it to lighten the mood a bit !
Hope you recover, my mom is going threw the same thing ,luckly they have the ability to repair your eyes !
Good luck !

wishing you a speedy recovering , its part of getting older I think .

Yeah, ditto here. With all the cancers and all that jazz, I'd gotten used to hearing not so good news at the docs.
Wife and I recently went to the eye docs though and the news was....good for a change.
He said I'd still pass the driving test without glasses.
Didn't know how to act when the news didn't suck for once...
I still refuse to wear bifocals, though. A pair for astigmatism (driving), a pair to be able to read with.

Thanks everybody. I can't imagine being blind. It's one of my biggest fears.

I'd also like to thank the generous person who upgraded me to the Gold-Membership. I truly appreciate it.

Try and be a good patient. As difficult as it might be, do what they tell you.
Perhaps some of the eye vitamins might help?
You've been added to our prayer list.

get well.
this getting olde **** sucks, but, it beats the alternative

Get well soon man. Eye issues are the worst! My wife's eyes are in bad shape too.

Wishing you well. Think positive, everything's gonna get better.

Sounds like you have the same problem I have. They first tried me on the bubble, since the tear was toward the top. By the time the bubble disappeared (normal function) I had good vision, but the follow-up checks showed tearing at the bottom, which required the gel.
I pray yours ends up better than mine. The repaired eye has good vision but bad focal length ( example, if I look at my foot, my right eye says it's five feet away, my left eye says 6 1/2 feet away) . I deal with it, but find myself looking at the world with one eye closed a lot.
Do what the doctor says, prayers for your recovery, John.

Wishing you the best. I am starting too have "floaters" in front of my eyes, but nothing serious yet.

Hope you have a full and speedy recovery!
