I put a longer throttle cable on the other day so I could try a taller carb spacer. Thought I had a bracket I could modify for the cable, in doing some fitting up, I pulled the threads in the rear drivers head. Awesome, helicoil job on the car.. sometimes simple **** isn't so simple

Pulled some parts off

May as well check the lifters while it's this far apart. Look good, they are all spinning. I do see some signs of wear though. Guess a roller cam of sorts is in my future.

And back together with that pesky 2" spacer. Simple enough, eh? Sigh..

Some wear? That lifter already has a hole worn through the bottom. Must leak oil pressure. How was the cam lobe?

I think the problem started with that drivers side fender cover LOL. Some days it just doesn't pay to start anything.

Gotta take it easy on dem alloy parts....
