What are the coolest stock wheels and the coolest aftermarket stuff.

Part of what I like about those wheels is the history of them. Knowing that they were recalled and that some customers refused to return them makes the story interesting. I don't care much for wheels so small and narrow though. Most factory wheels were 7 inches or narrower.

That Firebird SCREAMS the 1980s ! I like that.
Yeah, too bad they didn't continue, maybe in a larger and wider size, a really great design. Was someone supposed to re-manufacture those wheels ? recently ?

In 2006 at the Mopar Spring Fling in Van Nuys, CA, I saw a vendor there had a set. I don't know if they are still being made.

I just bought myself a set of Weld Prostar wheels for Christmas! These are going on my Scamp.

When I was in the planning stages for the red car, I wanted to go with larger diameter wheels and lower profile tires. In the early 2000s, the 20" wheel craze was just gaining steam. A nice '68 GTX was making the rounds at the shows out here on the West coast. He went with a 20 x 8 Rear wheel and an 18 x 8 front. I didn't like the really short sidewall or narrow width of the wheels on the car.
For me, I wanted wheels as wide as I'd have if I was running 15s but a bigger diameter wheel would allow me to run a shorter sidewall for crisper handling.
I went with an 18 x 9 front and an 18 x 10 in a style that reminded me of a modern version of a classic design...

I know that for many classic car owners, anything over a 15" wheel is a sacrilege.
I look at it different.

You have that fitment really done right. It's true if you want to step up the handling and braking, you'll need at least 18" or larger wheels, and that will certainly make a significant improvement. Also, the wheels you chose have a deep negative offset, which makes them look pretty good on your Charger. If those were modern positive-offset wheels, I'd have a totally different opinion.

I have a 13" rotor up front which necessitates a 17" wheel size, minimum. My spare is from a late model Charger, 18" steelie.

These look great on Dodge trucks, I just wish they would start reproducing the damn center caps!

Well, having seen your car in person.

I have to say, You did good.
Its looks GREAT ,

Here is the wheel I am using on my '64 Polara. It is a one-piece 15 X 7 aluminum imitation of '69-up Magnum 500 wheel with trim ring. I think the whole wheel has clear powder coat on it. It is pretty accurate, except plastic centre is shorter than original metal centres. I don't know who makes them, but they are sold in Canada by Golden Leaf Automotive. I got mine still in the boxes for cheap at a local swap meet.
