You are absolutely correct. This was only the second time to the track for the car. I haven't even touched the tuneup on the motor and still working on the suspension. In just two outings I've made really good gains. You were quite a bit lighter than me. I'm 3,560 with me in the seat. There's at least 3/10 of the difference...So that's quite an accomplishment, in your mind however I'd be more inclined to think that a 10 second time slip would've be something to toot your horn about.
Many years ago my small block 340 Valiant ran 11.08 first time out with a hydraulic MP cam (it was a .533 cam-Purple Shaft) and then a progressed to 10.80. It weighed 3200 lbs with me in it.
So I believe you have some work to do to really do justice to utilize all those cubes.
