Thanks! I appreciate the comments. Here's some interior pics before and after..
Converted it to the matching gunmetal interior with leather buckets out of 71SE 383 2V parts car. It's too bad in a way, the car I got the interior out of was it better shape than the car I'm fixing up!
I have saved my money for some time looking for my ultimate dream car. A few years ago I found it.
This car had sat in a wrecking yard for 20+ years and had to be moved when the yard closed down. It was missing some parts ie: dash, windshield, radiator, front of engine ect. It will be a big project. I bought it from the guy that ended up with it.
I enjoyed looking at everyone’s cars and projects. It helps motivate me to keep working on my car. I like seeing the before and after pictures. I do not have any after pictures yet because I am in the progress. I will post a during picture, the progress of where my car is now.
63SPF, that is an amazing creation you've done. Very nice, very original.
I've wanted a classic muscle car for some time. During my last deployment I settled on a '68 Charger, then I just had to find it (and move back to the US). I was stationed in Japan at the time and so of course couldn't go look or buy anything. As soon as I got back to the states I was looking every day online and driving hither and thither looking at contenders. Thanks to Tallhair for keeping me from going too crazy after I lost out on one sweet deal
I found this one on craigslist in MN and drove 11 hours to go get it alone. Got a flat on the way. Rented a uhaul trailer up there, bought the car for probably too much ($21.5k), loaded her up, and hauled her home. No problems on the way back.
She's a 1968 Charger R/T 440 auto (by the fender tag) a/c car with stripe delete, but the 440 engine is not numbers matching and (supposedly) comes from a '67 Imperial. It runs and drives (but not very safely), little rust overall.. but it'll need at least a new trunk floor at some point. Came with a hemi 18 spline 4 speed trans plus bell housing sitting in the trunk. That's a 69 door on the passenger side. Lots of stuff doesn't work; she'll be a good project. I keep getting sent away from home, but whenever I'm home I'll keep adding to it and fixing stuff.
Original 318/auto car with buckets, console and A/C. Was converted to a 383/4-speed at some point then left in a barn for 10-15ish years (I was told). Hadn't been licensed since the 90s. Lotta rust and its going to take some time but its my dream car. Will eventually be a GG1, low block stroker and I'm keeping the 4 speed.
This is how I found it.
It is complete and I'm currently in the process of disassembling it. Was met with a nasty rust surprise under the rear seat that I didn't anticipate. Should have known.

Oh and here's me actually saving her from a slow rotting death.
