Hello cdr, here is that pic of my painted dash. It came out ok, need to do some touchups, and paint the lettering, but overall i'm happy. I'm building a nice driver, not looking for any trophys right now. I also got my valve covers painted too....
Pocket ported my 915 heads for my 69 RR. Also polished a set of 440 rods and cut down the counterweights on a 440 crank for a 451 I'm building for a forum member.
Still working on exhaust head pipe.
Could have installed headers and fixed leaks and clearance issues by now!
Bought plama cutter Thermal Dynamics PAK 25 $400 craigslist
Not the right tool for final cut, but has decreased mockup time for test fitting by about 80%
I pulled the top end off my hemi. Broke a u-joint earlier in the season and wound the motor hard up against the 8K rev limiter. It spit out a lash cap which I found in the lifter valley. With the missing lash cap, it caused the number 3 cylinder to go fat when I hit the spray which lifted the top ring land, beat out the rod bearing and kicked the rod through the side of the block.
Well what started as a quick "Lets change out the radiator" has blossumed into "Lets clean up the back side of the core support", which lead to " Lets clean and paint the front half of the motor while we can get to it". So today I unhooked everything and will pull the motor for complete paint and detail along with clean, sand, and paint engine bay and K member. Had planned on some more cruise time in the vert, but as long as it seems to take to get things done anymore, I might as well get started early and be ready for spring. Still got the Belv for the last few events and cruises.
