What did you do to your Mopar today?

War wounds.

I believe in working smarter, not harder. I was called lazy a few times for that.

Give a lazy man a job and he will find the easiest way to do it.

I add to that-

Give a smart, lazy man a job and he will find the most efficient way to do it.

I picked up the Rambler 390 (Yes, 1969 it was/is a Rambler, but in 1970 it became AMC) for my 1969 SC/Rambler, Valley Head Service, Northridge CA.
Initially just a simple re-build after so many years....
But I decided to do a bit more, I ha]d them Balance the engine
I have ALL the DATA Specs/Sheet...

Absolutely striking shade of blue..nice!

Replaced my badly deteriorating passenger side roof rail seal this morning with a pre-owned original I scored from member "moparparts"
Got some good suggestions here for rehabbing it (being in good shape to begin with, it came back to life really easily). Best of all it went on without hassle and fits exactly as my original did. Out with the old and in with the better old!

The old one. Leaky and you get black crumblys on you if you brush against it..

That looks great & love to color too. I had my 383 put together at VHS, it's a good shop. Overall a positive experience for me going there years ago.

Ordered a new 8-3/4 S/G unit for my spare rear end. It probably will work out cheaper in the long run, than buying someone else's 2nd hand parts with no guarantee of having a good piece.

Should arrive at my place in under two weeks.....and for $36 shipping. RockAuto...you ROCK!!!

(I hope I get a fridge magnet this time) :D

Got the last/odd cat-whisker in the driver's door, installed handle and lock mechanisms in the passenger's door, and trimmed my right kick-panel to clear all the electronics. That was a tedious deal. So.....ready to install some window-glass. Woo Hoo!!!...more tedious stuff.

Are the ring gears the same for these things? I may have a lead on a couple NOS ones.

Maybe....someday.

Bored out the hole in the brake booster plate to fit the new MBM booster. After my second mug of coffee I'm going to prep and paint the plates and steering column.
Question, while it's not a 100% stock build, is a satin black OK for the steering column?????

For what it's worth, I did mine (also not a #s matching car) in satin black in the engine bay and it looks good, maybe not factory correct but it helps give an overall cleaner look. I did paint it matching green on the interior portion, however.

I'm generally a one-man-show, and working on/building 3-4 cars at a time. Sometimes working harder is the only option. How much progress I make on these multiple projects....speaks volumes to people who maintain a single car. And people who can't, won't, don't work on these old POS cars, have no real understanding. Sometimes ya gotta suck-it--up, cause the clock never stops running. You're never gonna have war-wounds, unless you fight the war. I work very smart, just have lots of work to do. Working-Smart, is smart.
Wounds are the natural outcome on some tasks and cannot be prevented easily.

Back on the 63 Belvedere project. This is a primered up,beater that for lack of a better term gotta call it a rat rod. Got the engine and tranny (LA 318/904) in with Schumacher conversion mounts. Worked on the tranny mount. The car was a 3 speed stick so I modified a 70 A body mount to fit.I have a 70 B body drive shaft that will have to be shortened.Next is installing the headers and do the wiring and rad.
