What did you do to your Mopar today?

Used the Dremel grinder to shape the hole in the brace so the pipe could swing sideways to line up with the tank and the filler neck. Also to get a bit of down angle so fuel will flow into the tank. Going to tack it in place this afternoon. Need to buy another 90* fuel hose too and some trick clamps.

I drained the oil from the Neon R/T then realized that I had no more Neon oil filters on hand. Fortunately, I had a Wix cross reference book on hand. I looked at the specs for the Neon filter, then compared them to the specs for the other filters I had on hand. Lucky for me, the Neon filter has the same mounting thread, gasket inner and outer diameters, and bypass valve as the filter for the 3.7 in my daughter's Commander. The Commander filter is just longer. Saved me a trip to the parts store.

Just about any mopar filter seems to work on the neon. A lot of the guys on neons.org were running the viper filter.

Installed a complete rear 72 bumper setup, into my body-in-white cuda. It had been raced as a 74. It's a Dave Wren, 72 car.

I used to use the filter for the 4.0 Cherokee. I thought I could make due with one of the filters for my daughter-in-law's Caliber. Looks the same, but the threads are completely different.

Today, I unwrapped the Charger's engine harness to remove the alternator charge stud to bulkhead wire. I'm going to replace it with a 10 ga. wire directly to the starter relay stud. I've already had the ammeter removed and replaced with a voltmeter. I'm going to splice the wire from the main splice under the dash that ran to the bulkhead disconnect to the red wire that comes from the starter relay and bring the wire directly through the bulkhead, getting rid of the sometimes troublesome male/female terminals that usually carry the current load to the passenger compartment. Then, I can use the black wire that was attached to the ammeter to power the voltmeter and the red wire at the ammeter becomes an orphan and can be removed.

Drove it to a car show 30 miles away. There was a storm on the way, but it looked like we had time to get down there and stay an hour or so and then get home. We got there, opened the hood, and checked the radar. The storm was all of a sudden moving into our home area faster than it had been. We decided to bail - I don't think we were there even 5 minutes. We made it within 10 minutes of getting home dry, but ended up getting wet. 2 for 2 for driving in the rain to or from car shows this year. Probably should have just stayed home, but we're sick of getting rained out of shows this year. No harm done, and we got to take a nice ride in the car anyway.

It was an awesome wrestling match, but the victor was . . . me ! ! Yay ! ! !

Rebuilt the window regulators, installed beltline and window track felt. Hoping to head to Goodguys in Des Moines Friday. That is if the rain stays away.

Walked out to the garage and touched the coating in the trunk area to see if it was dry yet. it was. Set the 17 gallon fuel cell in place so on Monday I can work out the tank hold down strap placement and also the 3/8ths fuel line trajectory.

I started to re-wrap the engine harness in the Charger. Since I realized there was a tach wire already in the engine harness, I dug around in my wiring graveyard and found the matching factory tach wire in a spare harness. So, I'll add that to the bulkhead disconnect and I'll be able to delete the extra tach wire that had been added. That'll make things neater.

Plumbed the 3/8ths fuel line. Sliced the outer bumper brace and touched it up with a BFH so it can be welded to the other one.

I fixed the electric choke wiring by removing the feed from the + terminal of the coil and plugging it into an unused plug wired to an alternator field terminal plug. Luckily, I had a tach harness that I'd never used (wire colors were wrong) and I was able to make use of part of of it as it had the proper plug molded onto it.

Welded in the right fender support. the previous owner removed it for unknown reason.
The fender (door edge) was bent up pretty bad while the support was out.
