What did you do to your Mopar today?

Flushed out my cooling system today. PO did not use any antifreeze, so it was rusty in there. Ran a radiator flush through and then a bagillion gallons of distilled water, before finally adding the antifreeze. Last pic scale is in deg C.

Brake work today. Yes, the old single pot master is finally history. I love working on rust free desert cars. A quick blast of penetrating oil and all the 57 year old brake fittings came right out. The factory distribution block will be used for the front disc brakes, and the line to the rear drums will be separate and run through an adjustable proportioning valve. The old inlet, the one with the line attached, will be plugged.

Got the Charger out of winter storage yesterday, went for a long drive today. Good to have it back home..

Woke up early after working all night. Decided to press in my LCA bushings and put the torsion bars in.

Took it all apart tonight for practice. Three times for fun. First time yesterday, forgot to put the strut rods in. Then put the "Improved" bushings in last night. Then took it apart again and put the standard bushing in tonight after supper. Didn't like the look of the newer style. A bit of friggen around but no better time.

A week of 20C+ weather and I know the roads haven't been cleaned but she's going out! Gotta love a car that has sat all Winter and starts with 3 cranks and 2 taps of the pedal and then runs absolutely clean. Amazes me every time I start it, considering the engine was rebuilt by Bennett and Hanson in 1978 for about 300 bucks! Wife right into the shop, "should I lock the door and grab my purse"? What's not to love there?! Ready for a cruise tomorrow, we were already too far into the afternoon today.

Hope it wasn’t that far of a drive. 100 miles in one of those E-body buckboards is more than enough.

I put 95 miles on. I prefer driving the Challenger over the Charger. The ride is smoother and quieter. The Charger feels every bump in the road and sounds clunkier.

Oil, filter, plugs changed; valves checked; intake bolts tightened; cleaned and waxed.
Waiting for warm weather to open the garage and fire up car.

I'd check the Charger then. My survivor '70 rides as smooth and comfy as my '14 Grand Cherokee with air suspension. I rebuilt my front end last winter with new bushings and 1.03" torsion bars and it is smooth as silk.

I attribute some of it the weight of the 440 on 245/45-17 front tires versus a 340 on 215/65-15 front tires on my Challenger. The Charger has Firm Feel steering and suspension and the suspension is very firm. Both cars have Bilstein shocks. The car has about 4000 miles since restoration so I’m not concerned about any components being worn out.

Just seems weird to me, that's all. My Satellite wagon ('72) and my Charger ('70) both ride beautifully. The wagon has bone-stock original front end bits (I've owned the car since '95 and never had to do anything with it), SS/D rear leafs and air shocks; the Charger has a new rubber-bushing front end, new upsized torsion bars, and bone-stock original rear suspension.

Little by little guys. Put the sway bar brackets, sway bar and end links on this afternoon. So be some spindle time!
Oh yeah had to rebalance the rotisserie today before I started adding more parts. It was getting kind of heavy to spin. To far out of balance. Wheel of fortune again! When you can let it sit in any position without the locks on, your golden!
