What did you do to your Mopar today?

I unintentionally washed it yesterday as I had to move it outside in the rain to get access to a piece of equipment in the garage. I wiped it down after I got it back in the garage!

Is that a telescoping antenna?
Yes...found it on ebay. It came with the correct 90 degree base, gasket and chrome bezel and nut. Matched my old one that was in rough shape.
 
About 60 miles on the '64 today. Absolutely ZERO noise or heat from the new rear axle assembly I put under her, where I swapped in a '67 assembly that's about 1.5" narrower than the taper axle '64. No more tire scrubs on the outer wheel wells, while running normal shocks. Just a beautiful cruise with the bride of 41 years...

Radar shows RED storms coming this way - got home before they hit!

They also had Mopar drags (1/4 mile). I need to build a fast car again. One of my bikes runs 9s all day long...but it just isn't the same thing.

Sounds like a good excuse to build another car.:thumbsup: A little pricier than a bike.:lol:
 
Sort of what have you done this weekend for me
Fri evening took the tank off to install filler pipe. Back on by 10:30. Kind of a job for one fella but we got her done
Saturday morning put on the lower ball joint’s on after coating them with RPM
Then this morning I stuck the spindles for a trial fit. Missing a few bolts with the kit I bought. Putting discs on the front
Oh took the old 80 roadrunner out for a rip. She never fails me

When I was just about home from the Mason Dixon Mopar show last Sunday, a horrendous squealing noise suddenly started from under the hood. Today, I finally got around to having a look and found that the nut holding the PS pulley on was missing. Fortunately, the pulley stayed where it belonged. I dug through my spares and found another PS pulley nut. I've never before seen that happen. It could have been a lot worse.
 
I just got out from under Fred. First time I've been under him in about 9 months
(as y'all know, I'm on a different petrifying schedule than most of you - body dictates
what I can do and when, with an accelerated decaying calendar).

Determined to install the k-frame to rad support brace that's been missing since I got
him a dozen + years ago (P.O. didn't quite fix everything from his little drunken front end
bonk with him one Friday night).

Well, the brace bolt hole was about an inch shy of the corresponding hole in grille vertical
brace, so the proper way to fix it was to remove the radiator, then straighten the rad support.
So much for that....
I loosened the radiator mounting bolts, then got under there with all manner of prybar this,
wood stud that and the star of the show, a baby come-along rated at 1000lbs.
I coerced, beat, pried, etc. on things until it got in the neighborhood, but I still had about an
inch left to make up, so out came that come-along (a glorified tie-down strap, really).
After several near-misses, the thing started skipping teeth, so I gave it one last mighty heave-ho
and tried to spear the bolt in, praying for thread engagement, when....
KABANG.
Come-along came apart with a bang, flying right past my ear on the way outta there.

Synopsis:
Garbage can gained yet another cheap Chinese tool, skillfully chopped into pieces.
Fred sits just like he did before all the fuss.
Brace is back sitting on the workbench - and we'll regroup to fight another day.

Hell, who knows - I might actually fix it the right way next time, right?

Changed front brake pads for a Hawk HP Street 5.0 pad. I mistakenly moved to a 'high performance street/track' pad when the hydroboost failed and I switched to manual brakes, thinking I'd get better stopping power. Not only did I not really notice any improvement in stopping, but the car sounded like a city bus under braking and the dust was bonkers. Only a few miles on the new pads, but so far, so good.
