What did you do to your Mopar today?

Working on the bed on the 64 D100

For those who have replaced wooden beds this bit of information may be old news.
The wood is actually a structural part of the bed. In other words, don't remove ALL the boards at the same time. The 2 outer ones by the wheelwells are basically most of what holds the sides on (ask me how I found this out). Live and learn.

Hmmm, black inner fenders.
How is multi color candy and gold leaf going to go with that?

Can't wait to see.
Oh, and I guess the grandpa sleeper look is not an option with a tunnel ram.
Haha…going a different route with this one! Be tough to close the hood, so sleeper is out the door, lol!

I swapped my Performer RPM and Edelbrock carb for my old Performer 383 and restored Thermoquad. Now, to try and remember how the stock kick down, throttle cable, and vacuum lines attach.

Still busy trying to re-invent the wheel so to speak. I am devising a bracket system to re-route the throttle cable in my A100.
Changing down from a 108" cable to a 72" cable by means of some aluminium box section and a bell crank which I sourced a few months ago.

I never did like the clunky old system with push-rods, cranks and levers all over the place - way too much slack to have positive throttle response.

Lessen to one-self......COE throttles are a right royal PITA. Pictures later...my garage is a mess again.

My original throttle cable broke in the Plymouth when I was 45 miles from home. Luckily there was a Walmart close by, so I walked there, bought the heaviest picture hanging wire they had and rigged it to get me home. It wasn’t pretty but, it got me home. I then ordered new Lokar cables for both throttle and kick down, made my own support bracket out of 1/4” aluminum flat stock, it’s not going anywhere and wouldn’t go back to the stock setup. That was 10 years ago. You’re right, much better for even the shift cable.

Was scouring the swap meet with @Kern Dog at today's Mopars in the Park show. Came across this archival Mopar parts book. Looked to be in great condition.

Surprise. Turns out it holds four whiskey glasses, each glass representing an era of the continuing evolution of the Mopar brand. Had to get it.

I shipped it to Montana. The Little Red Express truck is on its way to the new owner.

I have one of those sets too. One of my Master Parts spiffs. At Pomona currently, ready for tomorrow.

No pics because it's ho-hum, but I spent some time this weekend sorting out my wiring for my Charger's forward light harness. I had everything bundled up in a magpie's nest on the driver side when the car was out for body & paint, and after installing the popup headlight covers and motor, it was time to route all the connectors to the respective locations. Both sidemarkers are the dumb crimped-into-the-housings kind, and were snipped off decades ago, so I was digging around in my parts bins for those 2-prong connectors. Had to solder on some spare connectors and cleaned up some messy splices from back in the day, then re-wrapped several areas with fresh electrical tape.
