What did you do to your Mopar today?

I hope I'm around in 14 years to see that you've put the 2nd piece of glass in.

I think I was able to beat the 14 years this time.

Got the passenger side in today.

Recently went to fix the heat on my 70 Duster. Blower was blowing but seemed to be coming out the back instead of the vents. I assumed there was some big hole so I spent half the day pulling out the box, cutting and capping off hoses, dripping coolant everywhere, and so on, only to find out the previous owner had just mixed up the control cables! Should have been a 15-minute fix. "Never underestimate the incompetence of the previous owner."
And always remember, One day YOU will be the previous owner.

Yesterday actually..... laid rubber outside my buddy's workshop after a great afternoon of preparing, slicing and eating smoked brisket and pork belly....plus other goodies.
No pictures of the skid marks available :(

Had the exact same thing happen with one of my previous GTXs, but I got lucky and started with the temperature control switch, and the cables were hooked up backwards. Previous owner was not a car guy, but had restored the car with a group of volunteers as a charity project. Interesting result, with people who were serious about doing a good job, but didn't really know what they were doing. Had a lot of initial electrical troubles with grounds; there wasn't a speck of bare metal after the body was stripped and painted.

I spent two hours in the garage searching for Hemi parts and dropped them off at the machine shop. The Hemi is getting closer to going on the dyno.

OEM gauge tested well but is to far gone.

I went up in the loft and dug out the new MSD distributor and spark plug wires for my Hemi engine that is in the machine shop. Almost dyno time! I also took the goofy luggage rack off the back of the 72 Corvette. The car looks so much better without it!

Heading outside my comfort zone today, but I've always said you should learn something new every week. Let's see if I can get the scratches and dull spots off the Swinger. I'll work my way slowly to the Black Dodge...

All head spring pressures were measured, everything was finally ready, so I made my buddy build his own damn heads! (heehee) :p

Then we installed the heads and started mocking up the intake as well as taking some valve train measurements.

A regular valley pan won't work well (without modification) with the Mopar Stage VI heads and the spacers, so we ordered one from Eldelbrock. Also, the rocker arm geometry is not ideal, so we ordered up some shims to shim up the rocker shafts. I took a shot at the revised length of the push rods, so hopefully they fit well once we get it all shimmed up.

Progress!

Nice work as usual Hawk. I see you also welded a support for the cam button to the timing cover.

By the way, you know those Stage 6's would fit better on a low block, if you catch my drift?

Unfortunately it is too damn cold out to go out in the garage today and work on the Mopars, but I did paint the 15x8 rallye wheels for the 72 Corvette 454 today! New tires are coming! The ones on the car had 1993 dates on them!

Haha - I thought about it. But it was so much hassle doing all the measuring for fit with my Air Grabber. I don't know how all this would fit with my hood!

Sell that damn Tupperware and put in a big Modine heater or two. The money you get for the sale should just about cover the cost of the heater(s).
