What do ya'll think of this '67 500

E=273-4
F=318 (first year for "LA")
G=383-2
H=383-4

Would have been nice if they'd showed a pic of the frame rust, since they sat a repair is needed.

Looks like a solid car. I would be a little scared of the frame rust. Can cost some $$$.

I called and spoke with him. He is giving me a pic tom morn. Says the frame is a patch needed right in front of back tire. and both inner fender have about 1/2 dollar holes. Cars mileage is orig. It's a surviver.

I really don't think they rust is going to be a biggie. I'm a welder and can fab small stuff easy enough.

and I got the VIN part down but wondered if anybody recognizes anything about the tag like shur-grip or interior trim. I'm sure those seats aren't stock inserts.
OK think i got the tag figgered. A/C equipped with 14" wheels is about all it gives mebbe a spotlight??? Did say B/G interior. Gold paint. bucket seats. I've never seen a 500 w/o a console though? I guess the buddy seat is stock? Couldn't track an axle ratio.

It looks like a nice car. There's one thing that bothers me, the tail lights and trunk finish panel are for a 440 not 500. So something happened there at some point, most likely an accident. I don't have my book in front of me, but it doesn't have a posi and the gearing is a low ration number, like 2.94 or so. The 2 designates that. My person feeling is the car is not worth 10K. Nice car, but the small block keeps it value on the lower side. The plus is you'll get great mileage. I think 500s actually came with a bench seat as standard. Bucket were an option, and so wasn't the buddy seat. That's not an unusual combo though. The seats are wrong, I'm not sure what inserts you are referring to. The two tone color is dead wrong, but the emblem or what I'd call inserts are correct. If it had a gold interior the seats would be completely gold and the carpet black. The inserts would be gold matching the seat color. Hope this helps and hope everything I wrote is at least close to correct.

Good luck.

I was just about to ask about the rear end and why it only looks like a 440. It really doesn't look like it'sbeen in an acc't/ But something's up. The inserts of the seats is what I'm referring to not being original. It does say B/G interior. Sooo you're saying gold door inserts are correct? Oh I get you, the whole seat should be gold with black everything else.

Less than 17 hours and it is less than $5,000 .....5K to 7k would be a great price

...a bit of ebay strategy for ya .......when ya see something you might buy....DONT POST IT ON THE FORUM.....:eek:...nice car tho good luck!

Rear tail light and trunk panels are easy enough to replace, and I see them pretty regularly.
I'd want to look at the inside of the quarters and the lower trunk lip to see if any damage was repared correctly.

Hopefully the frame rust is not due to the car being sectioned.

P6E code on tag is two tone black and gold interior, but I suspect the seats are not correctly reupholstered.

I'd still want to see the frame damage before purchase.

Top row of tag should have a5 for a buddy seat/arm rest or a6 for a console.
can't quite make it out in the pic.

I believe buckets were standard on the 500 but the console/buddy seat was an option.

...and IMO 5-8K is too much for a 318 car with frame rust...even a convertible with a somewhat rare interior.

About 90% of the 67 Charger tag guide applies to other B bodies.

Yea i decoded it from the charger site. Oooo, I didn't even think about frame being sectioned. I'm calling him and teling him to hurry with that pic.

If frame rust doesn't bother you, down here, there's a 67 500 383 4 barrel car that was factory turbine bronze. It's mostly complete, minus the motor and trans, but the trans cross member is rusted and so is one front frame rail. It was offered to me for $700.

Car "Appears/shows well", I would be a little leary of the frame & rust issues thou, usually if it's rusty there, it's rusty in many other hidden places too... If that doesn't scare you, $5400 isn't a real bad price maybe, LA 318ci or not...

that sounds really, really tempting depending on what you're definition of "mostly" is. I'd go w/ a 318 no matter the orig. mill.

YY1 If you can get a whole car for $700 its a steal, I'd gladly take it if it wouldnt cost me $400+ to come get it.

I think 5k for that car is not a bad price. I paid just about 2k for mine and had to replace the rear frame rails, trunk extension, rear cross panel, better part of both rear wheel openings and inner, front floors, a fender, and it was a 273 3 on the tree car.....so to avoid 2 years of work at this point I would gladly pay an extra 3k!

Oh and mine isn't a convertible either.

I would definitely want to see it first though, as previously mentioned that is the wrong rear end trim and the trunk is missing its lock which may be because the original was destroyed. I also noticed the button for the glove box door seems to be missing. So if it is clean and appears damage free I say go for it but I would bid on it having messaged him that payment is contingent upon the car being as advertised on pickup.

Interestingly there is another turbine bronze 67 down here that's been for sale for over two years. It's a 440 model 318 car with white vinyl top and white interior. Very attractive color combo. It needs lots of love but appears fairly solid. It also has a 383 in it. It started at $3500, and made it down to $2200.

It's almost like those two cars are begging to be made into one.
