What do you do for theft deterrent?

Pushbutton automatic will stymie 99% of thieves. But that doesn't help my 69 GTX. NSS switch sounds like an easy hook up if I ever get around to it.

Don't forget the bad guys don't have to start it to steal it. A lot of them get towed away here in LA. Imagine that happens countrywide. I've contemplated buying a pit bull boot. They're not that obtrusive - would probably use it for long stays in the garage and maybe occasional street use if I happened to be in an area that I thought it best. Google it. Interesting option.

On the Charger, trunk mounted battery with battery shutoff switch (in the trunk) and ignition signal grounded kill switch, E-85 and no choke (sort of a pain to start when cold), reverse manual valve body.
The Coronet Convertible is getting a Viper G5706V (1-mile range pager system) with multiple sensors, back up battery, and such. I am re-doing the wiring for the the EFI, so it will be custom wired and can do remote start, remote power window control, and other stuff. This type of alarm is normally professionally installed, and you have to know electronics fairly well to install it (correctly.)

Manual trans stops a lot of them too. Homie don't know how to steal or drive unless its got an auto. Can you imagine how they would do if it was a 3 on the tree?

Gun owner for home. Hidden kill switch for driving elsewhere. If they're going to tow it, chances are they'll get it. At some point you have to realize it really is "just a car". That's why I'd prefer to escalate it up to threatening bodily harm. Most thieves get it's just a car but will find other targets when it's all about them walking away or not.

I use this....

The cop one is hilarious!

Actually I use a negative cut off switch and I'm in the process of re wiring the entire car..with the Ron Francis kit, the neutral safety switch will not go unless in place so...I've put in a toggle switch between the neutral safety. If off, it won't start and that switch is hidden in the console. Something a little different..

Very cool idea. I really like this, thanks!

Parking. The tow truck will have to pull out the new Mopar to get the old Mopar parked ahead of it in the carport. Also when traveling, park where tow truck has maneuver issues to hook up if possible. Well lit etc. Beyond that, only Insurance will help.

How about cell phone tracker on a old phone in the vehicle? Would still require cell service.
Wonder if there is a phone app to dial 911 with pre-recorded message? That could be triggered from an alarm? Normally 911 still works even if don't have service account?

Not sure about your area, but in Tucson calling 911 takes about 6-8 minutes before anyone will answer. Was just rear ended last Monday and I was shocked that a 911 call took so long to get an answer. I actually redialed 911 twice (after numerous rings) because I thought maybe I had dialed it wrong?

8 minutes to answer. That is bad.
Even if they are slow, they can track the location?

metal garage, 9 millimeter, and a german shepard for catching 'ANY" noise-Rottweiler to back him up. no tow truck driver will live if he would hook up to it , for any reason.
