I'm trying to trim the fat as much as possible on my '63 330 and still keep it livable on the street.

Radio delete, heater delete, a-100 van seats, aluminum brackets, aluminum water pump housing etc.

Hoping to get it around 3,200 lbs.

Think that # is attainable?

Yes, My 65 Belvedere I Big Block weighed in at #3600 in full street trim with me in it at #210 lbs. You should be close to your goal.

If I remember right my title on my car said 3450 is what it weighted empty, i will have to dig the title up, I am also trying to really lighten my car up, where did you get the heater delete and radio delete?

My buddy and I had that talk. This is my opinion....If your motor is making big power and you are trying to save a tenth or 2 then do all that. I would do it anyways. If you basically have a street motor it really does not matter that much. It's like having a passenger in the car with you and then asking them to get out.. Not that big of a difference in a couple hundred of pounds. You will notice more by doing a gear change in the rear end ! Slip in 3.73's or something in the 4's and see how she perks up. I dropped a complete hindgeless glass hood on my car and I probably saved more weight than everything you did so far. The hood cost $700 so it's a matter of what you want to spend. I am also doing some of the things you are doing too. I have it caged and a Dana 60 under it so I have also added weight. I am unconcerned about the added weight. There are a bunch of cars like mine that can run in the 8's. I don't think they are too concerned about the weight. It's the big thing under the hood that will determine how much zip your car will have on the street. Drop a big hunkin stroker in her and watch it fly ! Don't be offended. I can't even find the extra cash ( about 8k ) to get my ride on the street. I am just a guy sitting on the bench waiting for the economy to perk up so I can go back to work on my baby ! Do what you can and I will be curious to see what she can run on the track if you ever intend to do that with it !!

I found the radio delete plate for $25 from a guy on Moparts! They show up occasionally on E-bay for cheap.

The heater I just pulled out and plan on adding the vent cone from Kramers for under the dash but no one reproduces the little rubber plugs where the bolts would go in the firewall yet. (Part # 1777881). Probably just put a fake bolt/nut with the nose ground into a cone shape to make it look halfway decent.

i made a post a while back " delete panels " , there is a guy making radio and heater delete panels ... For cheap too !

Yeah, but his are for the later dashes and are done in cast resin.

Still work great, though.

My 63 Sport Fury weighs just over 3700 with my 180 in it and it has frame connectors and a 6 point rollbar. Ron

he is in the process of finishing heater delete for 65 coronet ... he already has 64's ready .... as for the 63's, well not sure on that one !! good luck ! ..

It's a fairly stock later (budget) 440 with just a cam and headers and 906 heads. If it puts out 400-425 HP I'll be thrilled (and surprised!)

I put together a similar combo in a '71 Cuda and loved it. Lots of low end grunt and low 13's @ 104mph spinning at the track, drove it all over on cheap pump gas and pulled down 14-15 mpg.

This combo has a little more gear (3.55's vs. 3.23's) little looser T/A convertor (2800 stall vs. 2500) better suspension (SS springs) and wider tires/wheels.

I'd like to see a high 12 when it's said and done.

I have a spare '73 440 shortblock in the corner that will get stroked to 500" and some aluminum heads when the budget allows.

I just ran my 64 savoy across the scales and with me in it (225) it was a couple pounds shy of 3700. Maybe the 270 lb. difference is that I have a big block in it and they are quoiting a 6 cyl.

my 65 dodge coronet with fiberglass fenders, hood scoop and front and rear fiberglass bumpers and brackets weighs in at 3122 lbs. w/o me in it

Food for thought,, I was told that a 440 and 225's weight difference is about 50 lbs.
