What is the story with Dippy calipers?

I have a 64 b-body. A parts car that I picked up has the 73-76 A-body disc brake conversion already done with a factory sway bar and LCAs. I am hearing that the way to go with this setup on cars that originally did not have a sway bar is to swap the spindles side to side (already done) and to use dippy calipers (rear mounted so the bleeders are in a better spot) with 69 camaro flex lines?

So, what year dippy calipers do I need? Do I need later caliper brackets, or will the earlier stuff work? I am guessing the dippys are slider type.

diplomats are slider type, 1977- 79, just have to check on bracket differences because of rotor sizes, the police package had bigger rotors.

They need to be the same as far as 10.87 or the cop car 11.75 inch rotors. They will NOT interchange since the bolt holes for the caliper adaptors are different. Need to know the distace between bolt holes are, or if you already know the size of the rotors. You can buy the larger caliper adaptors but you will have to get different spindles to accomodate the larger adaptors. Slider type calipers are more available than the pin type.

The caliper brakets will bolt right up to your spindles as long as your disk spindles are in the 73-76 Abody or Ebody group or in the 73+ Bbody, R, F, J or M group. The spindle adapters are interchangable between these groups but come in twor different styles, the pin or slider which determines what pads and calipers you use. Also they are in two different sizes to accomodate the 10.87 or 11.75 rotors but they will also bolt to the spindles in the mentioned groups of spindles (correct disks will too) which also come in pin and slider types.

or

I have done this swap before but nobody was talking about the dippy calipers back then. I put the 11.75 rotors on a 73 challenger, so it already had the spindles. I just bought the bigger rotors and the 11.75 caliper brackets, and reused my existing calipers. I didn't have the change the spindles to do this so I don't know what that comment is referring to.

If the dippy calipers fit the A/E 10.87 brackets then all I have to do is buy dippy rebuilds and give them the old A/E calipers as cores. If the dippy calipers only work on dippy brackets then I have to hit the JY. That is what I am asking.

The calipers pin or slider must be matched to the either the pin or slider adapter (small or large) and the adapter will bolt to any of the disk spindles used on A,B,D,E,F,J or M just NOT C

So, that being said the calipers are almost the same and can be used on all 71 to 87/88. The only difference I know of other than pin vs slider caliper is a slightly smaller bore size on the caliper piston on the earlier calipers compaired to the later.
