What Make or Model car would you never own? For me, there are several:

1. Subaru - hate the name, too much of an environmental lefty image for me.
2. Kia - are you kidding me, there is no damn way I'm owning something called a Kia.
3. Hyundai - nope, no way I'm going Korean. Besides, pisses me off how they tried to steal/copy the Honda badge.
4. Chevy - too common and basic.
5. Ford - I have one now, a 2016 Expedition, no way I'll ever own another. Its been a total piece of Sh*t.

Anything full electric!
Anything Korean.
.....and unfortunately most cars built in the USA since about 1973...Jeep and one or two Dodge models excepted.
Subaru must have a different image there....everyone here associates them fast, noisy rally winning monsters. tearing up the forests here!...far from environmental.

Yep, but it's what's out there. My newest car is a 14 year old, PT Cruiser.Base car with zero options.Just a little **** box that gets us around.
I know it will have to be replaced someday but I have no idea what to buy. Plus the cost is crazy. They load the new cars up with so much crap you will never use or want.

I only buy American companies.. even if they aren't 100% made here.

I'd never own a...

Prius.. what an ugly *** car!
Cube.. fish tank on undersized tires:realcrazy:
Sunfire.. ugliest Pontiac ever.

Kia and Hyundai are 2 of the most reliable brands available, and their warranty’s show they stand behind their product. Brother in laws wife had a Kia Sportage with 90xxx miles and developed an oil consumption issue, Kia replaced the engine no questions asked.

While there are many cars I wouldn't own and I buy Chrysler because I worked for them so many years and I'm loyal to the end. Nissan makes great drive trains, but this car is absolutely hideous.

and then you have this toad! Pontiac Aztek. These are just a few, I won't bore you with the whole list.

The same thing happened to my brother, same vehicle.

I worked at Dodge and Jeep dealership's for years. There service is horrible. Hyundai and Kia is really about the best New car's.
I don't care for anything electric, however that's what seems to be shoved down our throats.

I tried getting the power steering pump and rack replaced on my wife’s 2016 AWD GMC Acadia less than 2000 miles out of warranty. They basically laughed in my face. Cost me $2400 out of pocket.

I've never liked the Corvairs. I would like to see them scrapped.

We have owned Hyundai's for many years. They have been , Hands down, the most reliable vehicles we have had. My 2010 Elantra has 138,000 miles on it and starts up and goes like it's brand new. It has held up great inside and out. I have only done the oil changes, the tensioner pully, belts and the driver door glass that I broke. Great automobile. Could hop in and drive to Cali with no concerns today.
My wife bought a new 2017 Ford Escape Titanium that is loaded. Has only 20,000 miles so far. Zero issues except the car wash exit door coming down on the hood a few weeks ago. That gets fixed on the 6th. Nice car but has so much extra options in it that I, or she, will never use. Like I'm going to road race it and use the steering wheel paddle shift levers..lol. We own it though so it could be sold at the drop of a hat.
I wouldn't own a Prius or any elec car, VW, Subaru, BMW or Cadidliak.

I totally agree ive owned 3 Hyundai,s in a row and love the warranty and lack of maintenance id never buy a Chrysler compact over priced unreliable and I used to work as a Chrysler ,jeep, plymouth mechanic

South Korea is the new Germany. As far as quality control goes.

I always bought 'American' brands though we know how much this has been discombobulated over the decades with what is made here and not. I made a decision to buy an '07 Sonata (year old with 10k on it) for my wife after getting peeved about our Intrigue requiring $4,800 in engine work with only 50k on it. Liked that Old's a lot; but my go to shop wouldn't work on it being a Cad motor says take it to dealer. Was seriously looking at a CTS; but the style of the Sonata piqued my interest. It has the 6 cyl motor and got a great X warranty they don't give out anymore. (I got most if it returned as I didn't have any major repairs.) This was one of the best cars I ever had, near zero problems. I got another one, an '09 more decked out and stayed with nothing newer as it was the last year this model came with the 6 motor (being impressed with the '07 motor) and finding this one with under 10k on it. We gave the '07 to our daughter who has driven it a lot for years now with 190k on it still running quiet and driving tight and she drives on shitty-city streets. I have 50k on the '09 and few hassles with it. The upkeep has been a lot less than the several Chryslers I bought going back to the early '90's. Still buy my Dodge trucks though on my 4th. Just like 'em. And think the Sonata's were at least built here. So ahh...no disagreement here.

Research and development

Hyundai has made an app with augmented reality, showing users how to operate and maintain vehicles.[27]

In 1998, after a shake-up in the South Korean auto industry caused by overambitious expansion and the Asian financial crisis, Hyundai acquired the majority of rival Kia Motors. Hyundai owns 33.88% of Kia.[28]

In 2000, the company established a strategic alliance with DaimlerChrysler and severed its partnership with the Hyundai Group. In 2001, the Daimler-Hyundai Truck Corporation was formed. In 2004, however, DaimlerChrysler divested its interest in the company by selling its 10.5% stake for $900 million.

Hyundai has invested in manufacturing plants in North America, India, the Czech Republic, Russia, China and Turkey as well as research and development centers in Europe, Asia, North America and the Pacific Rim. In 2004, Hyundai Motor Company had $57.2 billion in sales in South Korea making it the country's second largest corporation, or chaebol, after Samsung. Worldwide sales in 2005 reached 2,533,695 units, an 11 percent increase over the previous year. In 2011, Hyundai sold 4.05 million cars worldwide and the Hyundai Motor Group was the world's fourth largest automaker behind GM, Volkswagen and Toyota.[29][30] Hyundai vehicles are sold in 193 countries through some 5,000 dealerships.
