Nothing right now, but have always been a huge Pontiac fan and planning to make my 2nd muscle car a 69 GTO. Automatic so my wife can drive it and I can drive my Charger.

What's going on with it?
Been working on this thing for 8 months off and on. It is an 87 IROC TPI. The computer is a plug and play system from hot rod harness. When you start it the engine RPM's surge up and down and the sound of rushing air inside the throttle body. If you let it come to temp. the sound goes away but when driving it dies every time you go to stop and push in the clutch. I found a page on line to adjust the IAC. Followed it to the letter with no help. I changed out the IAC motor went through the whole thing again to no avail. I have even changed the intake manifold gasket thinking it might have a vacuum leak. Don't know where to go from here (except the crusher). This is my wife's car I am NOT a GM person at all.
Thanks for the reply.
And Donny thanks for starting the thread. I would have never thought to ask anyone on here about a GM car.

I have so many it makes my head spin. Can't bring myself to sell any of them, but I don't have to either.

Love the 67 ford. I restored a 67 XL vert about 15 years ago. Rare one year only body and darn hard to find parts for. I am with you on the whole selling thing. I have had up to 24 cars. But now I have been selling some off and down to 11.

I'm not sure about the lt1s, but on a friend's 55 LS conversion we had the O2 sensor wires crossed and it did the same thing. The cpu knew which bank was firing and caused a conflict with the readings...We had to contact PSI to figure it out. They are a good resource for LT/LS swaps.

Some of those have a air bypass for controlling the idle. Mite want to check for one. Not sure if yours has one but worth a check. Alot of the aftermarket wiring and computer combos need tuning after by someone with the program. I always use stock computers

I think it only had one o2 sensor but I will check. It was supposed to be plug and play and pre-programed to run. It is my wife's car so I wanted EFI but I am tempted to put a carb on it change the distributor and throw the rest in the trash.

This system was supposed to be run ready but that might be something to look into..I called the support but they didn't really didn't have much of an idea. I have changed all the sensors on the engine.

I'm having trouble with the nova with my plug and play ignition, I don't have much faith in plug and play anymore, I have a 69 Firebird with a ls2 and have wend back to stock wiring and computer with that to. Without a tuner friend with all the programs it's hard to get things to run right, I've thought about ditching everything for a carb to.

This thread has some legs! Glad to start it! Thanks for participating! I have some Turbo Trans Am wheels, w lug nuts (unique to Pontiac) that have been Plastic Media Blasted, and I put them in White Epoxy primer, they look darn good!!! And I want to sell 'em! Or, I will paint them in the original colors they came with, and hang 'em in my shop or office!

Donny,
Post up a picture and the size of the rim. I have a friend the is building a 69 GTO Judge clone. I will show them to him and see if it is something he could use. He has more than one GTO he is working on.

No picture,
but I am fiddling with my Father-in-laws original 1974 Beetle, purchased new on 27 July 1974.
Now up to 30,000 actual miles. Yellow in color! Scarey to drive, but cool!
