What pinion do I need? Early 727 TF

Early 2 pump pushbutton 727. Swapping to 3.23 gears, tires are just over 24" tall. I've seen the charts but I was told the tooth count on early ones are different than the common later style.
 
I was always told and saw by experience that the pinion size doesn't matter if the car is treated right. Hammer the hell out of it at the strip and you need the larger pinion bearing ones. They come in three configuations. I have run the early smaller ones behind B/b engine b bodies and they have lasted. It depends what your application is.

What you may have to be careful over is the 62-65 diff can take the 65 onwards heads BUT you need to know how to shim the axles to suit this. Its not an issue if you swap a 65 onwards head into a 65 onwards housing

Yes. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I need a speedometer pinion gear to match what I have. Early ones seem to be hard to come by.
