getting ready to order sparkplug wires and was looking for opinions on what you guys have had good luck with. looking at wires for a built sb. are there any decent ones out there that are made for a sb mopar and fit well? thanks ,jeff

I get universal ones and cut them to length. It helps a bunch when trying to route them around headers.

I have been using MSD wires for several years. They seem to hold up better than some of the cheaper wires I have used.

I use msd on my BB and have had good luck with them. I have heard firecore are some of the best.

thanks for the replies. are any of these prefitted or an i going to have best luck with cut to fit? the car does have headers thanks again, jeff

Not a SB but I have tested 3 different brands and found this, MSD firecore have the lowest resistance value than Taylor, Accel, or Moroso Blue Max all 8 mm tested with fluke ohm meter length for length. Just saying,

I used to like Jacob's before they were bought out and off the market.

I used to use the Jacobs wires too. Firecore is supposed to be good and correct length for your engine.
I used to have Taylor spiro-pro wires. They worked fine, but did not hold up over time. They have a soft silicone insulation that is fairly easy to tear, and my headers would burn the boots too. I had ignition problems with the low priced Accell Super Stock wires, but that was 30 years ago? I haven't used them since then, but I may try the Extreme 9000 wires on my big block if I have problems burning the MSD vari-angle ends on my headers (so far they seem OK.)

I've used MSD Super Conductor wires on a mild small block (with Thorley headers), the fit was spot on and they looked great, plus they were premade (take em out of the box and plug em in).

the accels were cut and fit

with the Taylor you can get them EITHER way...I do use the PRE-cut on my race engines which are just a little loose, and on my show car I use cut to fit for that tight close fit...along with aluminum wire seperators to keep them high and tight..

A quality brand basic black ones from the parts store. These days it's Prestolite.

thanks for all the info now to decide which ones i hate choices
