As many of you know my Charger was rescued from a junk yard. 75% of the interior was gone. I know the colors, center console a/c that sort of thing. The steering wheel was gone. I have no idea what would have been appropriate. No build sheet either.
Dec 20 1967 build date
Any help? Who to get one from (repro)?
I have one from another car needs rebuild.
I could use it as a core. It has that taupe color with the silver ring on the edge and 3 chrome spokes from the hub.

Also is their a way to get my build sheet info? Mopar historical could only give basic stuff I already know.
Those of you that started with complete cars are fortunate. I hope you all don't mind the constant questions but I need info at this point.

maybe you can help this

The standard Charger wheel is the one on the left & the optional woodgrain wheel is on the right. I don't ever recall seeing the center wheel on a 68 Charger, but i have seen plent on 69's. If you blow up the picture, the center wheel says that it is "available later". The only way you can find out for sure is by looking at your broadcast sheet.....but you aint got one.

My parents B5 318 car has the one on the left. I have one that looks like the right one. I couldn't call the color "simulated wood grain" but that is the one I have. It came with another 68 I have. Its also a 383 car.

If your not dead set on a OEM wheel this one resembles the woodgrain wheel at a much cheaper price.

You must remember one thing...your car was bought a long time ago...and for a whole bunch less than what it would cost today....so your ahead in that department. Even the nicest of original cars didn't all come with the build sheet either so not the end of the world.

As far as the steering wheel goes the simulated either one wood look very nice. That red wheel looks nice with the white seats....but then again the wood one looks awesome (and a bit pricier...). The Grant wheel that Tim showed is a sharp looking option too. You get a free pass to choose which one you would like!

a friend of mine has a 69 SE Charger. This is his steering wheel. This is the same one that I have. Would it be appropriate for a 68? If I had it restored could it be changed to the wood grain of a 68?

It's the same wheel for 68 & 69, and the wood grain would be the same between the two years.

So I can understand correcty, I have a correct steering wheel for year and model. How did they call that "wood grain" or was it a finish that has obviously worn off?

Trust me this is good news considering the price I see these going for but it needs restoration. The band on the outside is coming off in part of the wheel.

Car have power steering? I used a Grant GT cheapie for years. Much better ergo. Less dish and diameter more pleasant for daily driving. Using a Momo JPS that was given to me. Similar dimensions to the Grant.

I appreciate the real world recommendation. I plan on it being a good driver so making it more modern but keeping its original form is really appealing
