Hi All,

I am just curious to hear people's opinion on what you think the Road runner will run?

Here goes 72 road runner with me in it about 3850 lbs.

440 engine 9.2:1 compression 915 heads (big valves with mild porting and valve jobs)
Lunati 703 cam 268/276...226/234 @. 50 494/.513 lift
TTI 1 7/8 headers (uncapped)
Eddy RPM intake
850 CFM Holley DB pumper
727 with 3600 stall 4:10 gears!
275/60/15 Nitto Drag radials

I would love to hear ET guesses, suggested shift points, and what MPH it will trap?

Thanks all!

My guess would be low 12's. Ron

Sounds lie a good fun combo... Just a wild a$$ guess 12.71 @ 105mph... what does the cam card say for RPM range or limits, I would say {just a guess, hydraulic cam} with that particular camshaft, the shift point is probably around 6000-6200rpm {maybe slightly higher 1st & second gear}, but allot really depends on what valve springs & valve-train weight... should be fun she's no lightweight... any other work done to the trans, than the 3600 stall converter ??

id put it in high 12's depending on the rear suspention.if no mods, you are gonna get some tire slip for sure with that heavy of a ride.

any suspension mods ?? what kind of rockers ?? what kind of fuel pump ?? what size fuel lines & pick up/sending unit etc. ?? what type ignition system ?? just curious, it could aid in helping us guess...

good luck & have fun, that's what it's all about !!

Thanks guys, to answer

Hotter ignition. Rev n Nator ( orange box)
Performance mechanical fuel pump. 3/8" fuel line
No real mods to rear, other then gears, drag radials

:)

Oh crane 1.6 roller rockers too

Kinda like the price is right. I am gona say low 13. Sound like a good combination.... depends on the air some......

good point :iamwithstupid: , yeah air quality, altitude {relative air density} & track condition, sunny hot or cloud cover etc. or how it's driven too, all can be contributing factors...

Your combo and mine are pretty alike (look in my sig for specifics and 1/8 miles times). You have better heads, more gear, but stock rear suspension and drag radials and less stall. If it hooks, it should do at least a 12.40 at 110 mph. If it doesn't hook, it could be anywhere from high 12s to low 13s.

Sonny says; "with tuning & practice, jetting, different combinations".....
& a few runs :steering:under your belt........= 12.20's??

Well, looks like we are going to find out Friday night

Mikey

Thanks all

Yeah, I think 12.20s are very possible if it hooks. I was being a little conservative with 12.40s with hook.

Are you going to Rock Falls?

Great Lakes Dragway at da grove! I will be happy if I get healthily into the 12's!

Mikey

I remember when a mid 12-second street car was quick enough to beat anything on the street. Then nitrous entered the scene and all the mid 12-second cars became high 10-second cars and then it just kept escalating from there.

13.8 at 102 mph.....I guess it is time to sort out suspension!!'n

2.1 60 foot time

Mike

I had a blast! I did not think to bad first time out

Hey my 105 MPH guess was pretty close, if you get the car to move better in the 1st 330ft, not jut the 1st 60ft, it will pay-off for sure, allot of you ET is made-up or lost in the 1st 330ft... suspension improvements, lightening & traction aids always help... did it pull hard ?? where was the problem ?? was it traction ?? or was it a tuning issue or bog ?? are you hooked yet ?? it's like a damn disease...LOL...
