What would you do?

Needs restored. No way around it. Every piece of rubber is dry rotted to ****. The vinyl is dry and would crack and seat stuffing would be falling out.
I would do what this guy is doing first. Take it to all the national shows for 1 year. Then start the restoration. I dont know if thats his plan, but that is what i would do.

The car was leading a pretty rough life for only just less than 4000 miles. Who was the kid? Is he still alive? There is more to this story than what we know. Bondo?

its useless unrestored , all parts are available why not . i would understand if it was a older car from the 1900s and parts are hard to find .
clean it up and bring the value back to the car .

Here's a question for guys who've been around this hobby for 30 years or so... how many times have we heard stories from owners that turned out to be 100% BS? Between people lying to make a sale, people who've heard legends told around the dinner table, and those who have no idea and just make stuff up, I would say about 95% of the stories I've been told are BS.

Look at this car. The car was supposedly brought home from the dealership, damaged, and stored in a barn ever since. What happened to the PLYMOUTH decals? Who painted the fender scoops? No way some kid borrowed Dad's car and took the decals off and painted the scoops. I'm very suspicious of this whole story as it sounds more like a family legend than the truth.

I don't believe that story for a minute. If that car was new, at a dealership, and unsold, how the hell did it get 3,000 miles on it. Then a kid 'borrows' it for Prom night and stacks it into a ditch....so that's where the odometer stopped ticking over until this day????
There is no way the dealership would have clocked up 3,000 unsold miles in a car like that back in the day.

Total BS story....great imagination, but a few holes in the presentation. 3/10 for effort.
