Whats everyone working on?

Tore apart the 440 source heads to take to machine shop to check. Man those castings sure stick out from the valve seats. Might see if the shop can do a plunge cut to clean up or I might just do it with a bit. Also deburred the 400 casting flash before I get it examined. Fun Fun Fun.

What type of paint? Base coat clear coat?....................MO

"Matrix" base coat......... first time I've used it and love it. (Some bases clog sand paper, this one sands easily and lays down super smooth.)

and Southern Polyurethanes clearcoat (SPI)

that being said........... elbow grease, and sanding my balls off multiple times are what really make the job

Just to get it going --- What is everone working on?
can anyone tell me how big a project it is to replace the clock with a tic toc tach in a 70 Roadrunner? i bought an OER tach to keep the stock look and dont like the look of an aftermarket tach mounted on the steering column. does the steering column have to be dropped ? Hoping its not to crazy

I finally gave up on nice weather to get in a few more drives. The 4-5" snow we recently had, finally melted enough get up the incline driveway to my shop. More rain and snow on the way today , so I got around early this morning and moved the 68 Satty from a garage into my shop. Getting it ready to paint the engine compartment, door jambs, and around the trunk lid. First off ,will be the bumpers for replating, trunk lid finish panel, tail lights and quarter extensions, front grill and grill header panel, hood, radiator, and pull the engine for doing a re-build. I am going to try and leave the transmission and exhaust pipes in the car. Complete heater and A/C system, and radio is already out of the dash. ........................MO

Got everything stripped on the front of the Satty and all the engine parts off on the top side. Now its time to go underneath. It would be easier to bring out the tranny with the engine, but I have my reasons not to. This is going to be a challenge , as the old man has really aged since the last time I did this kind of thing. Nearly no vision in the left eye and 20/60 at best in the right eye really complicates things in low light. I WILL get er dun tho ! .................MO

Assembling my mother's old car. Tedious stuff, with only 2 hands. Mechanical work is done...now it's time for the jewelry. Got the bumpers out for plating, stainless and aluminum for polishing and brite-dipping, and more parts on the way daily. I bagged and tagged everything 20 years ago, and nothing seems nice enough for the reassembly. It's powered by a 6.4/NAG1.
