I got this 440 in my car now, completely rebuilt about 2500 miles on it, I am rebuilding the original 383 and putting it back in the car. The 440 has stamped on it XS23L9B243908 (or XS29L9B) Which should be a 69 440HP engine out of a Charger.

It's running in the vehicle right now, and will be complete minus Carburetor which Is the original for my car. Exhaust manifolds, Intake etc.

Is the engine worth anything? It seems most people want to build their own, this one is built to stock specs, nothing fancy, just a good running 440. I got three engines under my shelves right now and I just don't need another one.

MY 383 that I am building. Looks pretty grungy, but it's original and will be a nice re-addition.

anyway I am looking to sell the 440 to help pay for the 383 overhaul. Or even a trade offer for a nice small block that would fit my 66 Satellite to replace the 273

Any ideas what this fine piece of automotive engineering is worth?

Did you have the motor rebuilt yourself? If so, then you will want to recoup some of your money for the rebuild, parts and the initial purchase price of the motor. I would start the price for the engine at about 75% of what you have into it and go from there. Remember, anything is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it.

ill give a shiny new quarter for it :toothy10:

just kidding...it's worth what somebody will pay. try looking through a few forums and see what they are paying for them...it would be super cool to reunite it with the original car...glws!!

I would say I would swap you my Frankenteen 318 for it, but you're a long way From Georgia.
