Hey guys need help with my a727 these are the numbers on the driver side just above the oil pan:

G2466166 2120939

I don't believe that this transmission was originally in my 65 dodge coronet 440 4 door sedan because when i order transmission mount and speedo cable they are both wrong. how do i find what this transmission came out of so i can order parts for that vehicle. vin number on my car is W355183254

let me know asap! i need to get parts coming to make it to the show! yeehawww

Seax440dodge is correct, you may have been shipped the wrong parts.

so why can't i find a correct transmission mount and speedo cable? what vehicle should i be looking under? i also can't find reverse light switch. what does the 65 8-318 mean? 1965 and a 318 but what is the 8? what vehicle may this transmission have been in? i know i have the wrong speedo cable and transmission mount.

for this a727 napa # 615-1606 is the wrong cable, it would fit my a904 on my dart through.

this is the wrong transmission mount on summit racings site
1965 DODGE CORONET Energy Suspension Transmission Mounts 5-1112R

i can't find a reverse light switch either

my book doesn't refer to an 8. he could be referring to the cylinders. You have a 65 727 cable shift 727. I don't have a 65 vin book. But if you have a 318 poly engine you have the correct transmission. Your correct cable I believe has a female end to screw to the back of the speedo. Do you have that? What doesn't fit? The later types were a slip on with a clip. Post a picture of your cross member, I'm sure someone will recognize it.

Let's start here.

Assuming the numbers are correct, the 10,000 day assembly date, 2120, indicates the transmission was assembled on May 18, 1967 indicating it probably came out of a 1967 model year vehicle.

I don't have my transmission application guide handy. Anyone have one or one or the White Book engineering books to check the PN 2466166?

I have a copy of GG's book, it tells me the transmission is for a 1965 B/C body 318ci (A727A - Late)

Hope that helps. :icon_thumleft:

this makes my brain hurt

According too your pics. that is the correct speedo cable! Correct cross member also.

yes that speedo cable is the broken one, I need to replace it. same for my transmission mount, I need to replace it. both parts I ordered are wrong, see above

i just don't know what to do for these parts, can i use the inside cable from a different cable and slide it in the existing cable sheath? what about transmission mount, i can't even find one on google, its like i have to make my own?

You can make your own inside cable, NOT the housing. you just trim the cable and heat the end for the plastic tip. I do not remember where we got it from except that it was not hard to find.

Schumacker (spelling?) I believe took over Imperial Services (at least the cable part), I got mine from them. They have the cable shown in picture. They may also have the mount you need.
