I also use a Mallory mech advance dist along with my MP orange box. I really like the Mallory as it is very easy to set the advance and I have had no problems at all in almost 6 years on the road. Ron

No box, no ballast resistor. Just a distributor and a coil, and if you ever feel you need more (unlikely) a 6AL will tie right into it.
I,m building a numbers car 383 RR and I want to keep everthing under the hood original looking. I am familiar with Pertronix. My question is what opinions of that system are out there.
pertronix's is a great way of keeping the stock looking system while gaining the reliability of electronic ign. the igniter II is their hotter system, basically the same premise as the mallory unilite system. I believe it uses a hallifax(
misspelled, I know) type of trigger, very simple to install and quite reliable.
