It will be fine. Big Cube good set of heads put a small Hyd Roller Cam in it so you don't have to adjust valves all the time and don't have to use killer valve spring pressure (easy on parts) 10:1 compression, that motor will make great power down low. You won't have to turn it hard at all. Probably shift at 6000 go through around 6500 + or -, and run 11's easy.
If you go with a small motor you will have to turn it harder to make the same power.

Like a few of us said, you may not want to race much now but if you decide down the road you want to, you will be 80 - 90% there, Cam change pump a few more point of compression and you're in the 9's.

That is good advice and exactly what we have in our '69RR, 589ci but a wedge motor, 10:1, small s/roller, race heads, tiny 950HP carb, street TCI pro 3600-4200 stall, max hp from 5500-5900, max torque@4400 and its raced and driven to track with full exhaust to rear and gone a best of 10.3's@130@3800lbs race weight, we trap@around 6200-ish with 4.10's and 10x29's. Going in the 9's will require 12.5:1, more cam or upgrade to 1.7 jesels and a Dominator but thats $$$ and no plans for that currently, it runs too good as is.

Back when this thread started, the World was a very different place indeed.

Then I noticed the 440rb's times were set back in the 80's and 90's!
I set my best times in 2002 with a 440rb engine, iron heads and a dominator carb, 10.66 (battle of Hastings) lol.
That engine in a Street Dart went 10.44 the same weekend with another driver.

But watching the TV this morning, my heart sank, no more FULL OIL-BURNING cars to be sold after 2030...!:wtf:
So here I am worrying about ''what head is best for my 528 HEMI'' and they will phase out Petroleum for us Brits!

Lets assume the premium fuels (gas) will go first' leaving just basic unleaded and diesel.:soapbox:

So its got to be a LOW COMP build, 'without a doubt'...:drama:

9.5 to 1 at best with two hair-dryers is deffo on the car:rofl:ds NOW!!!

Koffels, Mancini Racing, Ray Barton, INDY, Mopar Performance Stage V or VI, for all out stuff BAE Brad Anderson Engineering, Alan Johnson & others I'm sure... you can't go wrong with any of them, if you set them up properly, proper length/sizes pushrods/valves & spring/retainers, lash caps sizes, rocker geometry/style & ratios, oiling type, port configuration & volume depends on what your doing with them, how much flow you need, what bore sizes, any blower, turbos, N20, what intake & exhaust manifold types, compression ratios, etc... A high quality cylinder head/porter machinist guy is an absolute must have the cylinder heads, aren't the place/parts to be price shopping for discount stuff, quality heads done properly will make the biggest difference of any part... IMHO...
wow that was almost 10 years ago now
I thought this thread looked familiar

I see from the POLL that Stage 5 got the best results!

There was a tie between MP and INDY!

But 17 votes does not constitute a valid Poll for me...:mob:

Surely there are more than 17 HEMI cars in the MIGHTY USofA...:usflag::poke::drama:

Now the Edelbrock MP-2 hemi head is out of production it seems we are down to TWO horse race now...
