Working out the bugs [many] in my recently purchased 1967 Coronet RT clone. I have no specifics on the motor. The car has the 727 automatic and a 1969 440 with 906 heads and an unknown cam that is slightly larger than stock. It has an Edelbrock aluminum intake, upgraded dist. and coil, and Headman coated headers.
I really would like to go to a Holley, as that is what I am more familiar with.
I am looking for suggestions, as this is my first Mopar.

My Street Avenger 770 seems to be running great, though I know I have some improvements to make as I've got a bog from idle to WOT. Parts on order for that.

I would not go any smaller then a 700cfm,you will starve your engine at high rpm. I have a 750 dp on my 440 mechanical secondaries. 4 spd

all depends on what you are doing with the car? casual street,650 vac secondary will run too 5000 rpm just fine. drive it like you stole it, 750 dp for sure.

3310 vacuum secondary 750 cfm. It's all you'll need for the street.
This, especially with an automatic.
Real simple carb to tune, works pretty darn well right out of the box. Been around for decades.

I haven't had much luck with any "out of the box" carb (except for a Holley HP race carb). Likely due to the altitude here in Colorado.
The Holley Avenger carbs are decent once tuned. Out of the box, the idle/transition circuit is fairly lean. I have also had a Truck Avenger that had manufacturing debris in the main metering block channel behind the jets. Now I take them apart and make sure all the passages are clean and clear before putting one on a car. Not sure if I have just had bad luck, or quality control is getting worse?

We've run 12.90's with 600 Eddy carb out of the box. Stock short block; .484 purple shaft, Performer RPM intake, Eddy heads, 3.91. Street tires, stock conveter, and trans.
