It’s been raining the last few days here and it’s been TORRENTIAL RAIN at times… Farmers fields are mud and have ponds in them. Now with the wind picking up trees and branches coming down we just lost power. I can hear thunder off in the distance.. Spring is here I guess…

80MPH winds last night and still blowing 40+ today and pouring. Power out most of the night over a huge part of Ontario..

Don't worry, wait 10 minutes and it'll change. Now calling for 8" of snow by morning!

They say it could end here with some wet snow as well but who knows. They got the wind/rain right this time that’s for sure.

That **** passed us this past Sat-Mon... Merry Christmas to ya!!

Found out why no power when I went out… Our lines are buried but not far from our house they have poles…The one line is sizzling and smoking but tough to see…

Yeah, dumped a few inches of snow in a couple hours yesterday, it's still snowing. Kids are having a snow day today.

Moments ago, the Weather service just updated our snow totals to as much as 14” in our area!!!

WTF?

Just got rid of the last crap!

Got some whiskey for tonight and the plow is already on and ready to go!

Delivering parts in this stuff the last two days. Driving in it sucks, today finding alternative routes because of minor flooding. The old saying "soaked to the bone".

Weather channel showing 70 degrees next week!

I'm on top of a hill surrounded by huge oak trees, with 24 steel anchors in my shop floor, steel roof and siding, connected to a steel shipping container, steel rotisserie, steel everywhere...............

I try not to be in the shop when lightning rolls in, but I've been trapped a few times......

a thunder storm just rolled in, I high tailed it into the house

For all the people who love to bash California, THIS is one of the reasons that people moved here.
75 degrees today.

Yea, there are negatives with living here, I agree but when we look to buy out of state, I see wild temperature swings, snow, torrential rains, ice storms and two days later it is 85 degrees with 200% humidity.
We’ve looked at Texas and Tennessee before, then Texas had ice storms in what 2021 or 2022? Weeks without power.
It is never like that here. No ice. No snow. Power outages are rare and usually are only for a few hours. Stable temperatures. No 40 degree differences from day to day. When storms come in, they are mostly gradual, not abrupt and violent.
I have never lived where weather changes so much, so fast. I don’t understand how a person would tolerate that. At the same time, you may wonder how we tolerate the negatives that we deal with here. For me, I try to avoid them as I go about my own way.

I witnessed a truck backing under a low wire and he hooked it with the top of the trailer. He kept backing up until one pole snapped, then another, then another, like dominoes.

1:30 am... Snap! Bright flash! KaBoom! That was this morning. I literally jumped out of my bed!

Same here!! Hard to believe how nice it is today and yesterday wasn't bad either with a bit of rain early on but it cleared up and cooled down from the 80's a couple of days ago to mid 70's today with very low humidity. The bad stuff skirted us and went across the northern parts of the state.

If you can isolate yourself from the BS there that’s great. Personally I love the seasons and could not imagine everything just staying the same year round it would be like Bill Murray in groundhog day.. I am glad here we don’t get things in other states like wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes and mud slides cause it keeps our home insurance reasonable. Although it’s going up because of those areas that do. Worse thing here is brining the roads in winter. Corrosive nasty **** I could do with out. What we are experiencing is unusual as we normally don’t get 3-4 straight days of rain. Looks like next week is sunny and in the 70’s. Which is good cause I am now literally swamped with work…

I've learned to unplug modems and routers........ I have a hard wire to the shop for internet, and have fried both ends twice. It gets a little pricey, and it's a total pain in the ***. My shop is a total lightning rod.
