Who Likes Aircraft ?

Mitsu MU-2 is a little hot rod. The last variants were over 400 mph a/c.
I love Aero Commanders, both recip & turbine. They also get with the program. Commander was a Ted Smith design(TS Aerostar)& Smith was a lead designer on he Martin B-26 Marauder(my Absolute favorite Bird) Ted had a thing for small wing area, obvious on the Aerostar. Wing loading of short wing B-26 is 54 lbs. per sq. ft. Veteran combat pilots preferred the short wings & scored their share of dogfight kills with them(a med bomber roughly the size of a B-25 & much faster) The cadets kept dropping them out of the air on final(landing speed is 135-140 mph)so they lengthened the wing, but lost the ability to turn as tight.

Guardrail – RC-12X - Northrop Grumman Corporation

My "Bud" worked with these in Korea on the 38th

I liked those planes, but back in the day I always thought of them as the Mooney MU-2. I know they were really a Mitsubishi design though.
