If I was a rich guy in the 1960s or 1970s and decided to show off and get a private jet, I'd want four engines. Sure, you could get a LearJet if you were the poor schmuck sitting across from you at the country club, but the Lockheed JetStar was classier. It was good enough for Elvis!

Last weekend my wife and I drove to Red Deer, Alberta (about a 700 mile trip each way) to visit my daughter's family. While driving around the nearby town of Innisfail, I came across this Starfighter keeping guard in the parking lot of the local Legion hall. Fittingly, this is Legion branch 104. There are only a couple examples of the 104F in the world, this is one of them, the other is in Belgium. Thirty 'F' models were originally manufactured as trainers, destined for the German air force.
