Nakajima Ki-115 Tsurugi (Sword or Sabre) was specifically designed to be used by relatively unskilled maintainers and pilots as a kamikaze aircraft. It was made of wood and a thin steel and the landing gear was designed to be dropped after take off. It proved to be difficult to fly and none of the 100 built were used operationally. It is on display at Pima under loan from The National Air and Space Museum. It was decided to display the aircraft as is rather than attempt a restoration due to the fragility of the airframe.
