My neice is piloting the lifting chopper. I’m a proud uncle!
Although some literature talks of P-38 superchargers, they were turbocharged. Most filters were simple screens to protect from debris on take-off. Actual flight was usually in clean air, and higher power was a priority over filter restrictions.i just saw a war department video featuring the twin engined supercharged P-38 Lightning. Now I am wondering, did those engines have air filters? If so, what did they look like? Thank you.
