That was an ME262 well known to the Americans. It was a prototype Me 262A-1a/U4, airframe V083, with its distinctive 50mm cannon sticking out of the nose. It had only begun testing for a couple of weeks when captured by Americans in April 1945. As well as the above photo with the 'Happy Hunter' name, the same aircraft has been shown with the name 'Wilma Jeane' and 'Feudin' 54th' on the nose - the later named for the 54th Air Disarmament Squadron that had captured it.
