My all time favorite aircraft has to be the Boeing B-314 Clipper. One still exists at the bottom of the Pacific. Made an emergency landing and they tried to save the plane (even tried to tow it in) but after rescuing the passengers it was used as target practice and sunk as was deemed a hazard to shipping.

Let's not forget the poor buggers in the bottom ball turret or the tail gunners. Likely the most vulnerable, especially in a bailout situation. Has anyone been watching "Masters of the Air"?
