Once the Ar-234 was geared up for production, it freed the Me-262 to be switched to a fighter role (as it was originally intended) instead of the bomber role that Hitler had first demanded. We've seen lots of pictures of the Me-262 as a fighter with its pointed nose containing four 30mm cannons, but many of the early versions had a front bomb aimer laying behind plexiglass windows. The two protruding masts contained microphones tuned to detect enemy aircraft by sound.

Embraer, based in Brazil, is the third largest commercial aircraft manufacturer after Boeing and Airbus. This is their first model, certified in 1972 and deliveries starting in 1973.
