If you're a Canadian who likes Harley-Davidson, you'll know the name Trev Deeley. First, Fred Deeley started a Harley dealership in Vancouver 105 years ago (1917) and never looked back. His son Fred Jr. continued, and also opened a new car dealership while grandson Trev ended up a successful flat-track racer and bike dealer. By 1973 he was granted exclusive rights to all of Canada; if you bought a Harley anywhere in the country, it was one that went through Trev's enterprise.
Long ago, (early 60's) my dad was looking for a job, and was interviewed by Trev who hired him to work as an auto mechanic in his father's (Fred Jr.) car dealership. This is that place, on Broadway, Vancouver. They primarily handled Austins, for awhile they also dealt with Mercedes and British Leyland products (Jaguar, Triumph, MGB). Later in the 60's they became a Rambler dealer as well.
The last time my dad and I visited that old place, it was a restaurant. We stopped in for a meal. It still had reminders that it used to be a dealership.
