This is my oldest daughter, I give her the honor of helping me work on my beloved Roadrunner clone and she enjoys every second of it. Time well spent with her.

As a bonus, her smaller hands work good in those tight spots. Any time spent in the garage with your kids is well spent.

I've let her drive it once, she had to do the dishes first tho. I wouldnt let her get over 20, She is only 12. Every time we go for a cruise she asks to start it and I let her. She already knows more about cars than most boys her age do and I love that. I think she will respect it when its time for her to take it out on a weekend if she puts in time under the hood and stuff. Im dreading that day for sure.

Awesome.

very cool.....good job getting her out there..I have 2 daughters and dammed if I can't get them interested in the "dirty" part of cars....love to be in them and wanna drive em but won't touch em like my sons do...now the boys are a different story...my youngest will come out and rub grease from something on him just to say he got dirty helping dad to his mother...love em and don't blink

That's fantastic. My son has autism and really doesn't want to get involved in anything except his own little world. My daughter (4) wants to do everything, so hopefully I'll have a helper soon.

5.7 hemi....she will if you help her along ;)..autism is tough...I have a nephew with autism, I can't say I know what you are going through but when he stays with us it is tough...always in his own world and doesn't like to listen when doing something dangerous, but very loving and remembering all the med's my sis has him on.....hopefully you can spark something to his interest that has him delving into it deeply.

So cool! I shoved a kid seat in the back of my car so I could cruise with my 3yo daughter. She always wants to take the Charger. Looking forward to her helping me out in the garage. Really happy for you guys, rsd859- well done.

My 8 year old daughter says I work on it too much but she loves to ride in it.

That is so cool that she's interested in helping you work on your car. I could never get my daughter interested in the car hobby, but i do remember one time when she was sitting in my car and a group of teenage boys came over to check out the car. It was so funny. She said to me "maybe your car is pretty cool after all".

Cool stuff man! Always great to see family involved and enjoying another family members passion. Only makes the whole family stronger. If there were more families out there like that, sure would make this country a lot stronger. Good job!

rsd859 great to see your daughter is taking interest into your car/hobby & wants to spend some quality time with dad, I miss those times with my girls & my son... enjoy them

Tell her when she want`s the keys,"Change all of the spark plugs without any blood and you can have em"

Great job with her. She looks very happy. My 2 girls have been going to cruises and on rides ever since I had to use 2 car seats. They are 9 & 11 now.Its getting harder to compete with the boys and their friends lately.

I love seeing posts like this one! My dad got me into cars when I was just a little girl (my older brother never liked to get dirty and still doesn't), and my own daughter enjoyed them too. Here she is the day I bought my Barracuda, April 9, 1991 at the age of almost 6.

Now she'll be 28 in a couple weeks, is married, owns a day care center in northern California ... and drives a Lexus [hanging my head in shame now lol]. Where did I go wrong??

It's terrific to see your girl helping out! Kinda reminds me of somebody ... :D

that is awesome...my daughter is 7 and she wants to help me when i work on mine. she has been to 2 car shows, and now she wants me to paint my 70 panther pink. lol keep having fun together.
